So far, it's what it is

Serious subjects and fandoms and silly things may vary. I post everything from questioning American-centric thinking in global media to hockey to Canadian-centric stuff to politics, social issues, racism, sexism, and many other -isms to cute images of cats and dogs and sometimes some no1curr stuff too and whatever reblogs look interesting or cute or something.

the youth of today and general rant

what pissess me off is that (prepare to view the inner feminist and she’s not happy) girls these days feel like they need to supress who they are and gain approval with other’s discretion. you are who you are, and you need to get your self worth from within instead of exploiting yourself and hiding who you really are in an attempt to get someone else’s approval.

on that note, i don’t like sluts. but this also comes under another heading, and this entire conversation and argument is far too vast to settle in some bullshit rant on here. “slut” is a selective term. a woman who is comfortable with her sexuality is automatically branded a slut. wearing revealing clothing makes you a slut. at least in this society.

which, in my humble opinion, is COMPLETELY FUCKING wrong. so, as far as i disapprove of girls acting out and supressing their true identities and instead replacing it with a persona that they THINK people want to see, i also support women that are comfortable with their own fucking bodies and do whatever they fucking please with it.

also, i’m 16. i’m not going to rant against the “youth of today” when I AM the fucking youth of today. i also don’t approve of it when assholes that aren’t even 19 years of age, say they hate “younger girls” that act like sluts.

in reality, if you’re not even in your 20’s, you are a young girl. period.

I don’t understand what this post is even saying.

I don’t have a gif of this, so I give you a quote:

“It’s like he’s trying to speak to me, I know it!” — Marlin, Finding Nemo

Ohh, I have

Honestly? If she’s really 16, this could just be the  “trying to figure out feminism” phase that is easily grown out of but can actually help make a person more focused on figuring out society even though there can be complete moments of WTF and wrong-headed thinking and all of it. So I’m not going come down on her for it. She is a teenager trying to figure things out, and over the next few years or decade or two she’ll figure it out.
